ANCESTORY with Lucy Luz & Lilly Love Lucy Luz Lilly Love 2 American girls trying to find meaning and purpose by connecting to our ancestral roots. Growing up American, it's easy to become disconnected from traditional cultures. We believe that by connecting back to the land, to the people, and to the water we can make the world a better place to live for our generation and the ones who come after us. Our ancestors have the knowledge, we just need to learn to tap into it in a modern way Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/ancestorypod/support Tribulations of Paulette Tribulations of Paulette The Tribulations of Paulette chronicles an overworked and under recognized mother who thinks her glory days are long gone. Paulette is a heroine for a generation of talented, intelligent women who gave up careers in the 1990s to raise families. Driven largely by hormones run amok, Paulette has teen angst competing with middle age woes. She also has three boys under 12 and an inattentive spouse (make that four boys under 12). She is caught up in Larry David-esque encounters with kooky friends, gym rats and an elderly couple. She fights off the occasional former lover, and sometimes she doesn’t feel like fighting them off. Like Lucy Ricardo, Paulette wants to break into something- she just doesn’t know what "it" is. Paulette thought she peaked in her late thirties, but her tribulations will prove that she barely scratched the surface. It has been a long time coming. Vex-Ed Vex Ed Are you fed up with the current education system? Maybe your an educator, a student, or a parent of a student. How about all three?! In Vex-Ed, I take a dive into the issues plaguing public education. If I'm lucky, maybe I can help bring forth a positive change in education for future generations.New episodes often!Show Notes: tinyurl.com/vexedshownotes King of Schnorrers, The by Israel Zangwill (1864 - 1926) LibriVox Manasseh da Costa, protagonist of this hilarious novel, is a schnorrer (beggar) who lives on the charitable contributions of the Jews of late 18th-century London. Manasseh is far from being a humble panhandler for, as every schnorrer knows, supporting the poor is a commandment from God (a mitzvah) not just a favour. And as the descendant of Portuguese Jews who had lived in England for many generations, Manasseh is the social superior of those newly arrived from Eastern Europe (Tedesco)—even his wealthy ‘patron’ Joseph Grobstock. The book concludes as the ever-audacious Manasseh strikes a blow for tolerance and understanding—while helping himself along the way. (Summary by Adrian Praetzellis) Alt-BC: Lucy Burgoyne
