The first three months—the period they call the first trimester, were a bit tough for me. I was feeling extremely nauseous and had no appetite. I wasn’t throwing up, but I was incredibly nauseous, and food smelled awful to me. During that time, I lost weight and could only eat bread and cheese. Sometimes, even water smelled terrible to me, my husband always teases me about that, but for a while, it was really true.Thankfully, the second trimester went smoothly. My appetite came back, the nausea stopped, and I went on with my life as if I weren’t even pregnant. I was able to keep up with my workouts, walks, and classes without skipping a beat.Honestly, I didn’t struggle much during the third trimester either. Of course, as my bump grew, my movements became more limited and I would get tired more easily. But still, I was grateful.The birth happened a little earlier than we expected. My son was born on the evening of March 25th, while we were actually expecting him around mid-April. In fact, I wasn’t expecting it at all, I even had a class scheduled for that evening! Thankfully, I was able to hold my baby in my arms in good health.Now I’ll be on maternity leave for a while. I’ve paused my classes and plan to return gradually, as soon as possible.
