They can help solve problems in the short term (and they certainly look like progress) but are rarely a long-term panacea for all issues.
They can be a distraction and rarely provide a good return on investment.
There are alternatives to solve your issues - optimise around your purpose and current structure, reduce barriers that stop people working together and build 'matrix management' skills
However, if you must reorganise, treat people with kindness to help them get on with their lives and be advocates for your organisation.
