Episode 23: It's no news that the Covid-19 pandemic has profoundly changed our lives, but how do international students cope with unfortunate news from home while continuing their studies abroad? Irine Hiraswari Gayatri, a student from Indonesia (the most recent pandemic hotspot in Asia) who is currently studying in Australia (a country known for its tough lockdown and border controls) answers this and other difficult but important questions in this episode. Irine is a PhD candidate at the Gender, Peace and Security (GPS) Centre, School of Sciences, Faculty of Arts, Monash University, supported by an Australia Award Scholarship. She is also a Senior Researcher at the Centre for Political Studies, Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) and writes regularly about security issues in Indonesia.
