The idea of a "Chart Ruler" is a popular one in modern astrology, as is the concept of a dominant planet. After all, it is only natural when confronted with the overwhelming amount of information contained in a birth chart that we search for a starting point of interpretation, a solid foundation upon which to work our way toward understanding the more nuanced elements of our lives through the chart. These idea is nothing new, and versions of it have been part of the tradition for thousands of years. However, the roles and criteria by which these "supreme rulers" of the chart are identified have undergone countless permutations over the centuries.In this episode astrologer Tristan Paylor joins me to discus some of the different ways in which the "ruler of the chart" has been determined and and explore some of the ways to interpret them.
