Don't Lose Sight with Emilio Barreras

from The Varsity Breakdown · host The Varsity Breakdown

Welcome back to the Varsity Breakdown Podcast. We know it's been a minute so we made sure to come at you with a special surprise guest. On this episode I was happy to finally sit down with Vista Grande alum and Grand Canyon University's own Emilio Barreras. We close up the Summer Camp Podcast series with a banger. We set up shop in the Coolidge Bears' Weight Room to talk his Freshman season with the Lopes and discuss Emilio's connection to the city of Coolidge. Learn why being able to give back to the community that grew up in is a must for the young man, and get to know who dropped the bomb that etched his first memory of baseball. We talk about his time at Vista Grande, being able to live out a dream as a freshman on the varsity team and the nightmare scenario that leads to Emilio revealing a gutsy move that was life altering. We hear how the sun never went down in Alaska and the wild experiences and memories he has been able to live out all while just enjoying the ride and having some fun. We had a lot of laughs in this one and we hope that you enjoy getting to meet the one and only Varsity Breakdown Break-out Batter, Mr. Emilio Barreras. Special thank you to Dr. Clinton White of the Coolidge Unified School District for his accommodation of their facilities and allowing the Varsity Breakdown in their space. This is episode forty-nine of the Varsity Breakdown Podcast.
