Episode 40: Back to back time shifts (jet lag, then clock changes) make Doug dopey. Not drunk, just a little out of it (did I say “destroy the whole family” in reference to annihilating the planet with a nuclear bomb?). We’re so topsy turvy that we start with Sportsballs this time! The Washington Center for the Performing Arts has great sound and lighting, with excellent shows throughout the year. Smashley bought tickets to some upcoming events: https://www.washingtoncenter.org/. Next up, “Uptown: A Celebration of Motown and Soul.” 12 Minutes Max is one of the greats; a way to see some of the best developing work. https://thisisbase.org/12minutesmax. It’s so great that BASE is keeping this going! I am still learning about futbol history but from what I can tell, most people don’t know about this inspiring tournament that took place in Mexico City back in 1971. Sports documentaries can be pretty good but this is one of the best I’ve ever seen: https://releasing.dogwoof.com/copa-71, I just love this song and video by The HU: Wolf Totem. We talked about throat singing in episode 39. Here is a good example of it, and the video is just beyond cool. Hatchie’s album, “Liquourice,” is available on Friday!!!  Of course I pre-ordered it. Based on the three singles that have come out, this is going to be the album of the year!
