Down, from our new Power Pop Compilation Album, 2016. Influences on this track: Big Star, The Beatles, Teenage Fanclub, Badfinger, The La's. This is a new 2016 power pop compilation album featuring Junebug songs which are in the aforementioned style of music. Powerpop music has strong melodies, clear vocals & crisp harmonies. The songs are generally mid-tempo, melodic, upbeat and catchy. The guitars either jangle or strum, with occasional, disciplined solos. The key originators of powerpop were The Beatles, The Who, The Beach Boys, The Kinks, The Small Faces & The Byrds. The songs on this album share those influences and are also inspired by the second generation of bands / artists making power pop such as The Cars, Badfinger, Big Star, The Jam, Todd Rundgren, Blondie, The Knack, Nick Lowe, Squeeze, Teenage Fanclub, Weezer, Foo Fighters, XTC and The Vapours. The songs were recorded using musical instruments such as Vox Jaguar Organ, Hammond Organ, Philips Philicorda Organ, Mellotron Strings & Flutes, Korg Micropreset M500 Monosynth, Logan String Melody Synthesizer, Hohner Pianet T Electric Piano, EMU Vintage Keys Module, Various Soundfonts (used with a Creative Soundcard).
