E-scooter injuries surge among Queensland children

New research from Queensland Children's Hospital reveals one in four children seriously injured in e-scooter accidents require intensive care, with two-thirds needing surgery. Hospital admissions more than doubled between 2021 and 2024, with two-thirds of injured children not wearing helmets.
