E275 - Why Art Journaling Can Heal Us with Stacy Reck

from The Roller Coaster of Midlife

Stacy Reck teaches art journaling to heal. Early in her counselling career, Stacy led a grief and loss group. One night the room felt very heavy, and no one wanted to share. In that moment of awkwardness, she broke out some crayons, paper, and music and had everyone draw their feelings. From that one night, everything she knew about mental health shifted and changed. Stacy is a Holistic Counselor with training in Expressive Arts, Jungian Psychology, Dream Mythology, and Holistic Leadership and is certified in Past-Life Regression Therapy. Art has this magical way of healing the body, mind, and soul. Art journaling helps you relax, solve problems, and keep track of your process. Truly, it’s not about being an artist but a way to tell a story and work through your feelings and emotions. It’s a meditative process where you can find peace and even happiness. Why being you is the best thing to be. Perfection is overrated! Messy IS the new perfect. How spending time with yourself in the quiet, doing something you enjoy, can heal you. You don't need to be an artist or good at art to use art journaling as a way to heal.
