Welcome to our first segment on Education, this week ☺️ In today's discussion, we're addressing the topic of critical thinking. In a world easily swayed by sensationalism, a lot gets lost in translation as many prioritize their desire to be entertained (or entertaining), over being informed. More specifically, there's a lot of truth that is (intentionally) lost in translation. Being an informed member of our society, or even as a global citizen, is a responsibility all functioning adults have in common. Those of us who take it seriously, recognize the challenges faced in getting a grasp of current affairs, global or local. This is namely because of fake news, false campaigns, and quite frankly, the bold-faced lies being propagated across news channels, social media, and through many "irrefutable" sources. In this digital revolution, knowledge is currency. It's important that we each take accountability for what we know, how we come to know it, and what we choose to do with said information, all activities otherwise referred to as: being self-directed. There is increasingly more to lose, and less to gain, by simply following the crowd. So here's a point-of-view on how to establish a grounded foundation from which to navigate an increasingly convoluted and complex environment. Any questions?
