Cepeda, quien fue víctima en ese caso, ha estado al frente de esta lucha desde sus inicios. Además de hablar sobre el funcionamiento de la justicia penal en Colombia, es inevitable mencionar la triste noticia del fallecimiento del senador Miguel Uribe Turbay, quien murió dos meses después de sufrir un atentado contra su vida, cuyo autor aún no ha sido identificado.
