The Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, is now here. President-elect Trump made an announcement on Tuesday night tapping Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead this newly proposed department. DOGE will be primarily focused on reducing waste, cutting excess regulation, and improving government efficiency. Meanwhile, the United States will continue backing a controversial cybercrime convention under the United Nations. The international agreement could help regulate cyberattacks, but critics are concerned that it could open the door for other countries to surveil Americans and potentially undermine basic rights.
