Ep 04: Mike Wright Colopy: The Most Experienced Novice Athlete

from A Fit & Able Life · host Fit & Able Productions

Mike is Alisa’s husband, and Travis’ dad (and Glen's too by the way, who you'll meet on a future episode). He is also Fit & Able’s first and longest participating athlete coached by Alisa. Most of the time he is also the oldest too! But Mike doesn’t see age as an impediment but rather a motivating example to others. If he’s out there, then there's no one who has an excuse to not be out there too!  Whether you’re younger or older, able-bodied or disabled, Mike has some great advice for staying motivated to keep moving.  You might not know it but Mike has a life outside Fit & Able too! He grew up around NASA, and was neighbors with many of the first astronauts, during the exciting space race to the moon in the 1960's. If nothing else, that environment provided a great early lesson in perseverance and always wanting to go further tomorrow than you are today.  At the University of Texas he studied biology, art, public health and biostatistics at the University of Texas and has been a biostatistician in both academia and the pharmaceutical industry.   You can get the full show notes here: http://afitandablelife.com/mike-wright-colopy-the-most-experienced-novice-athlete/  Download your FREE ebook 101 Healthy Living Tips: https://fitandable.leadpages.co/fit-able-life-101-tips/  Join our FaceBook page: https://www.facebook.com/FitandAble Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/FitandAbleInc  Learn about our Events and Teams: http://fitandable.net Follow our Podcast: http://afitandablelife.com

The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
