Ep.112 A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984 Vs. 2010)

from Invasion of the Remake · host Jason Bisschop

One, two, Freddy's coming for you... Invasion of the Remake puts on a pot of coffee because Freddy Krueger is bringing his rusted, blood stained claw glove to the podcast. A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) introduced a new Slasher to the world, Freddy Krueger, it revived a dying genre, and made horror icons our of Robert Englund, and Heather Langenkamp. It also introduced the world to megastar Johnny Depp! In 2010, as remake mania was at a fever pitch, all sorts of horror icons were getting a facelift including Freddy Krueger. Jackie Earl Haley replaces an aging Robert Englund in the Platinum Dunes remake accompanied by Rooney Mara, Katie Cassidy, Kyle Gallner, and Kellan Lutz. Whose dreams are darker? Whose glove is sharper? Invasion of the Remake has all the answers because we surly aren't sleeping anytime soon. ...nine, ten, never sleep again.
