Have questions or comments about this (or a previous) episode, give us a text!Did you know that in Greek there are such things as 3rd person imperatives??? Me neither! We don't have these in English. Usually if I command you to do something (1st person) then that makes sense. "You, listen to this podcast" is a 1st person command. In Greek there can be third person commands where I command someone else to do something other than you, as the listener. Does all of this sound confusing? Join the club. I invited Dr. Michael McKay on to the podcast to discuss this concept and explain to us how it is used in the New Testament. Dr. J. Michael McKay joined the faculty at Cedarville University in the fall of 2017 after serving as a trainer for missionary candidates for nine years. His academic interests include the study of the Septuagint, biblical intertextuality, and the book of Hebrews. He has taught biblical studies in various contexts since 1997.If you have any questions or comments that you'd like Dennis to address you can shoot him an email to [email protected] to the "Faith in Focus" substack by following the link here to get articles directly to your inboxAnd if you'd like to support his ministry with InFaith you can text the word "discipleship" to 41444 or head over to https://infaith.org/dennis-sutherby and give there.
