Ep 59: Stop Projecting, Start Receiving: The Shift That Expands Your Life

from Journey of You · host Devin, Chris & Felicia

What if the only thing standing between you and a more expansive, joyful life… is your willingness to receive? In this high-vibe episode of Journey of You, we dive into the transformative power of receptivity—the often-overlooked key to personal expansion, authentic living, and awakening your inner joy. Instead of unconsciously projecting past fears and assumptions onto the future, we explore how choosing openness creates space for new possibilities, unexpected magic, and aligned opportunities to flow in.Through grounded insight and a simple, real-time energetic demonstration, this episode reveals how projection contracts your world, while receptivity expands it—emotionally, somatically, and spiritually. You'll feel the shift in your own body as you move from closed, fear-based thinking into a state of curiosity, trust, and possibility. Main Takeaways: ✨ Receptivity is a conscious choice that unlocks creativity, joy, and growth ✨ Projection keeps you stuck in the past; openness invites new realities ✨ Your energy field—and your life—expands when you assume possibility instead of limitation ✨ Joy is not something you chase; it's something you allow This is your permission slip to soften, open, and trust that life may have more in store for you than you've been letting in. Call to Action: If this resonated, listen fully, subscribe for more soul-expanding conversations, and share this episode with someone ready to receive more joy. This Impact Studios production is a collaboration with the Governor family, UTS Faculty of Law and Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research. The Last Outlaws teamKatherine Biber - UTS Law Professor and Chief InvestigatorAunty Loretta Parsley - Great-granddaughter of Jimmy Governor and the Governor Family Historian Leroy Parsons - Governor descendant, Narrator and Co-WriterKaitlyn Sawrey - Host, Writer and Senior ProducerFrank Lopez - Writer, Managing Next Generation Energy Systems Cambridge University Background Stakeholders working with energy systems have to make complex decisions formulated from risk-based assessments about the future. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
