“I’m so in this moment thinking about the thing that I’m visualizing that it almost feels like it’s going to actually happen because I’m already feeling it in my body.”

We can create new narratives for ourselves through creative visualization, channeling feelings of abundance and fulfillment when envisioning our desires. In her book Creative Visualization (a Team MG recommended read!), Shakti Gawain defines creative visualization as:

The technique of using your imagination to create what you want in your life. There is nothing at all new, strange, or unusual about creative visualization. You are already using it every day. Every minute, in fact. It is your natural power of imagination. The basic creative energy of The Universe which you use constantly, whether you are aware of it or not.

How can we use creative visualization to better our lives? Here are some steps to get there:

  1. Accept that you have the power to create the world you want to see
    • “Accept that we can transport ourselves into an altered state, an altered reality, and experience whatever we want to experience.”
  2. Reframe your beliefs into an affirmation
    • For example: “My work is of high service and worthy of massive compensation.”
    • Focus on the feeling you’re chasing
  3. Sit daily with your visualization - make it a daily practice
  4. Allow your visualization to become a feeling
    • What would it look and feel like to uplevel?

We can utilize creative visualization for things we want and desire, and also for things that cause overwhelm. We can visualize a calm, cozy, and secure space, and we can visualize ourselves on top of the world.
