Episode 18 - Enid And Edgar Vintage

from Love Is The Author · host Jaymee Carpenter

Sandy and Jason of Enid And Edgar Vintage in Ojai, CA are salt of the earth people who were once high school sweethearts. Their vintage shop is a one of a kind shopping experience, set outdoors underneath a gigantic oak tree, next to their modest home where they home school their children, and live a slow, highly intentional existence, rich with quality time and meaningful connection. Enid And Edgar has always felt more like a church of nature or a vintage community gathering space, with a loyal congregation of thrift devotees who flock to bask in the atmosphere of radical acceptance created by Sandy and Jason. So naturally, when Jaymee learned that Sandy and Jason and the fam were going to be closing their Ojai doors for good to relocate to Nevada City in northern California, he asked if he could record a farewell episode of the LITA podcast live on location during Enid and Edgar's final day of business in Ojai.  Sandy and Jason, who are historically very private people, share their incredible true life story here for the first time, which will undoubtedly be one of the most heartwarming stories you've EVER heard, period. The episode begins with Jaymee interviewing their 16 year old son, Jonas, who helps run the family business, and  has started a vintage business of his own. You'll hear the sounds of the city swirling through the conversation, hawks flying above, friends off mic coming to share their appreciation, and some of the best damn parenting and relationship advice you'll get on planet Earth. You'll also hear tips for how to harness imagination and  how to find your passion. This episode is dripping and oozing with sincerity, with kindness, and a love story too beautiful to believe.  Enid And Edgar online: www.enidandedgarvintage.com LOVE IS THE AUTHOR: produced, edited, and hosted by Jaymee Carpenter.
