Each year, Engineering News-Record [ENR] recognizes young professionals under 40 who positively impact the engineering community. This year, JMT is honored to have four regional winners: Darren D'Achille, PE | ENR Mid-Atlantic; Brian Derr, PE | ENR NY/NJ; Cullen Harper, PE | ENR TX/LA; and Kim Waters, PE | ENR Mid-Atlantic. Additionally, Brian Derr was selected as a national ENR Top 20 under 40 winner. Listen in as Matthew Miller, PE and a 2023 Top 20 under 40 from the TX/LA region, as he interviews the four winners to find out why they do what they do, their inspiration for what they do, and the future for where they want to go.ENR is a leading publication for the AEC community. The Top Young Professionals annual program honors the best and brightest in the industry under 40 who have shown exceptional leadership and service throughout their careers. Nominees are judged by three primary criteria: industry experience and education, career and industry leadership, and community service and involvement. Up to 20 individuals are honored in each of ENR's 10 regions.

The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile.
