Episode 32: Everything Is Possible In Chaos

We start off life with the idea or perhaps even the absence of an idea. There are no constraints. Everything is possible. As we explore, we start making observations. These observations turn into patterns and these patterns into rules. Rules form the structures that allow us to move through this system of life. But the moment these structures form, everything is no longer possible. Only that which the structure supports is possible. And there's a flaw with these structures; they're based on approximations and bias. These structures are our best guess about how things work. The present may determine the future, but the approximate present does not approximately determine the future. Listen now to go on a brief journey of how structures and systems are formed and broken down and how everything is possible even in chaos.

Star Born by Andre Norton (1912 - 2005) LibriVox Andre Norton's "Star Born" pictures a human colony in another galaxy, driven away from Earth generations ago by a repressive government. Considered outlaws, the colonists are in permanent hiding. They have developed friendship and cooperation with a local race of "mermen" who are equally at home on land or sea. But that race only took to the sea to escape a malevolent power that hunted them and killed them violently for sport - Those Others. With a global decline in the population and reach of Those Others, contacts are few and the humans have no direct knowledge of them. So it is a major surprise when Dalgard, a human scout on his coming-of-age expedition, along with his "knife-brother" Sssuri of the mermen, run into a party of Those Others who are bent on reclaiming hideous weaponries left behind in one of their abandoned cities... and find that they are being aided by new arrivals from Earth! (Summary by Mark F. Smith) For One Girl Podcast By Calan Hunter Calan Hunter Books 'The For One Girl Podcast' is where I discuss the relationship between a man and a woman, concentrating on one specific relationship, the girl I am in love with in all my books. I do not know her name, I do not even know what she looks like, nor do I know how she feels about me specifically; what I do know is how much I love her. I've been writing about her for 11 years. I also know how to treat her with kindness to the depths of my soul, wrapping her up in a blanket full of love. I also give advice to all the males out there and how to get the girl because pictures of your tallywacker are not exactly going to get the job done!! Sasha by Aleksandr Kuprin (1870 - 1938) LibriVox Kuprin is well-known to Russian readers and has been described as one of the last exponents of Russian critical realism. He first made a career as an officer in the army, but he left this work to take on employment as varied as journalist, hunter, fisherman, actor, and circus worker. His literary fame was launched with the publication in 1905 of Poyedinok (The Duel). Here are 12 short stories from Alexander Kuprin. - Summary by KevinS Letters from Mrs Palmerstone to Her Daughter, Volume One by Rachel Hunter (1754 - 1813) ciesse The extended title of these volumes is 'Inculcating Morality by Entertaining Narratives”, and in the preface the Author indicates she offered them for approval to a friend who required works for girls aged twelve to seventeen that were not “too serious nor too childish....a mirror of truth and nature in which my girls may see themselves without danger to their native simplicity and without checking too harshly their natural curiosity and fancy.”By using examples supposedly from her own experience,“ Mrs Palmerstone” provides her daughter with the moral advice thought necessary to help develop the character of a young lady , but it is never overly sweetened...the keen observation and sometimes gently biting wit of Mrs Palmerstone would not be amiss in a character from Miss Jane Austen herself.
