Episode 4: Stupid, stupid genius

"Forget inspiration. Habit is more dependable." -- Octavia Butler It's almost impossible to get creative work done without discipline, but not all of us are naturally disciplined creators. That's where habit and routine enter the scene -- they're ways we impose discipline on ourselves. And they're more important skills to develop then ever before in a world where the old structures propping up creative careers have fallen away. This week we're looking at ways habit and routine help keep us on track -- and at some ways in which they don't. Also: Mat recalls working a street pitch with Eddie Izzard, and Bill recalls a near-brush with greatness involving Bob Dylan and a fancy wedding venue. Plus: Hats!

Illusion Junkie - podcast Dickson Hugh Beall's Podcast Real? Illusion? Active Imagination? Dream? A video podcast Girls With Wings: Getting Carried Away Felice Austin / Nam Joti Kaur Nam Joti Kaur (Felice Austin) and Lani Axman regularly get carried away "in the imagination of [their] thoughts as upon eagles' wings" (D&C 124). This podcast is meant to be a resource to those who wish to be led in paths of peace, "where poisonous serpent cannot lay hold upon [them.]" Take hold of your life by harnessing your powerful mind. Trance junkies welcome. Free imagery journeys may be inside. Cat and Cthulhu: The Podcast Richard Shaw "Cat & Cthulhu is like Toy Story. Except instead of being based of the imagination of a child like Andy, based on the imagination of a child like Sid. Ok Cat & Cthulhu isn''t really like Toy Story at all. Except that the main characters are stuffed toys (or an action figure in the case of Marvin). Oh and I do try and keep it at a level suitable for children. But apart from that it is nothing at all like Toy Story. Except that Cat & Cthulhu is also funny in places. Well Cat & Cthulhu is different in that we have Jedi and Ninja. And lots more seafood references. But that is mainly because the two protagonists are seafood junkies. Oh and we have mentions to impending apocalyptic genocide perpetrated by a main character. But then if you have Cthulhu in your cast roster it is kind of hard to get around that fact. Well I hope you enjoy Cat & Cthulhu. If you giggle just a little bit I''ll have succeeded." --- William Ellwood, Author Imagination running wild This is my backup podcast cause the other one doesn’t work anymore
