In this episode, we are joined by Tracy Smith, BCBA, to discuss the importance of social communication and why it is considered behavior from an ABA perspective. We explore what social communication really means, common challenges faced by individuals with autism and related disabilities, and practical ways families and professionals can support meaningful interaction skills in everyday life. Tracy and Allie are the founders of Next Chapter Support Services, an organization dedicated to helping individuals with developmental differences build independence, functional life skills, and community participation through evidence-based supports. Next Chapter Support Services will be hosting an upcoming Social Communication Workshop on May 2nd in Flagler County, Florida , designed specifically for adults with autism and related disabilities. This workshop will focus on practical, real-world strategies to improve communication, social engagement, and confidence across settings. Caregivers, professionals, and support staff will gain actionable tools they can implement immediately. If you live in or near Flagler County and support an adult with autism or related disabilities, this is a valuable opportunity to learn skills that promote greater independence and quality of life. Be sure to stay tuned for registration details and additional information about how to get involved with Next Chapter Support Services.
