She was raised among the cottonwoods of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and now raises good trouble in the San Francisco Bay Area. She taught health education and humanities classes in San Francisco public schools and now works as the Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging at a school for students with dyslexia and related learning differences.
