Episode 66: Bridget Jones 4 -- Mad About the Boy

In which Colin Firth's ghost and Hugh Grant's filmography take center stage. Also, for the curious and/or pedantic: - This movie's opening did not, in fact, beat Barbie's at the UK box office. But it did beat Oppenheimer, the new Captain America (no surprise there), and (of course) previous romcom box office records set by earlier Bridget Jones movies. - Kat's assertions about which book plot most closely matches which movie plot should not be taken very seriously, as, at the time of recording, she had not reread either book 1 or book 2 since the mid-2000s. Turns out both are adapted...with movie 2 possibly (and unfortunately) actually the more faithful?? Oof. - The very first Bridget Jones column can be read here.
