In 1976, the residents of Circleville, Ohio started receiving anonymous letters and whoever was writing them knew everyone's secrets. Affairs, corruption, personal threats. The campaign escalated for nearly two decades, culminating in a booby-trapped gun on a bus driver's route, a conviction that left more questions than answers, and letters that kept arriving even after the supposed writer was locked up in isolation.
