Three Men and a Maid by P. G. Wodehouse Loyal Books This book with two titles, Three Men and a Maid in the USA and The Girl on the Boat in the UK is a typical P.G. Wodehouse romantic comedy, involving, at various times: a disastrous talent quest, a lawyer with a revolver, a bulldog with a mind of his own and a suit of armour! The maid, or marriageable young woman, of the American title is red-haired, dog-loving Wilhelmina “Billie” Bennet. The three men are Bream Mortimer, a long-time friend and admirer of Billie, Eustace Hignett, a poet of sensitive disposition who is engaged to Billie at the opening of the tale, and Sam Marlowe, Eustace’s would-be-dashing cousin, who falls for Billie at first sight. All four find themselves on an ocean liner headed for England together (hence the British title), along with an elephant-gun-wielding young woman called Jane Hubbard who is smitten with Eustace the poet. Typically Wodehousian romantic shenanigans ensue. Even Estace’s redoubtable mother (a Theosophist author and public speaker) fails to quel Revealing The Greatness In You Prophet Paul Jackson A Lasting ImpactR.G.Y Family is a professional Inspirational Speaker who speaks on a variety of topics for audiences big and small. The Meat of the Word: Q and A with Martin Selbrede of Chalcedon Foundation Reconstructionist Radio Martin G. Selbrede, vice-president of the Chalcedon Foundation, conducts regular Question and Answer sessions on topics of interest to Christians serious about their faith. These audio messages were recorded live, with Martin “working without a net” (as he characterizes it) as he responds to incoming questions. The resulting “messages” continue to cover an ever-widening range of topics, all with an eye to honoring the command to “let all things be done unto edification” (seasoned with the occasional humorous aside). These Q&A’s were modeled after R. J. Rushdoony’s post-sermon Q&A sessions, which allowed those in attendance to “pick Rush’s brain” for a brief season. Wells's proposal for social reform was the formation of a world state, a concept that would increasingly preoccupy him throughout the remainder of his life. One of his most ambitious early attempts at portraying a world state was A Modern Utopia (1905). A Modern Utopia was intended as a hybrid between fiction and 'philosophical discussion'. Like most utopists, he has indicated a series of modifications which in his opinion would increase the aggregate of human happiness. Basically, Wells' idea of a perfect world would be if everyone were able to live a happy life. This book is written with an intimate knowledge of former ideal commonwealths and is a conscious attempt to describe a utopia that is not utopian. (Summary by Wikipedia)
