Faith vs. Reason / Natural vs. Supernatural

from The BC Messenger

[Season 1, Episode 8]Thanks for joining us for another month of real science, real Bible, real history, real world. Although science has fallen into disrepute in some segments of Christianity in recent decades, we know that science itself is just knowledge. It is knowledge about God's world. We do not need to be afraid of it, mock it, or sideline it (and indeed we must not).Likewise, the Bible has fallen into disrepute in many segments of our world today. We know that the Bible itself is a historical record; a treasure trove of ancient history. It is a record of God's works in God's world. We do not need to sideline it, ignore it, or contort it (and indeed we must not). Here you will find refreshing simplicity, even as we grow and learn in our human struggle to comprehend. As we take a high view of both God's world and God's word, we see them come into beautiful harmony.Highlights of this episode:Discussion: Faith vs. Reason / Natural vs. Supernatural. Is it right for Christians to look for evidence of God's works in history? Shouldn't we just take the Bible by faith? Is it right for Christians to seek scientific explanations for things God has done, such as the Flood and manna? This month we look at three biblical examples (Gideon, Philip, and Paul) to help answer these questions.Quote of Note: "The natural and the supernatural are both there side by side..."Research Updates: The Biblical Chronologist research newsletter is the place where Dr. Aardsma first records and publishes his findings. In recent weeks he has published two new issues:Volume 13, Number 1: "The Route of the Exodus, Part II: The Encampment at Etham"Volume 13, Number 2: "The Route of the Exodus, Part III: The Location of Elim"Aging 101: In this segment we focus on all that is currently known about aging through Dr. Aardsma's decades of research, which has culminated in the discovery of the anti-aging vitamins. Today's lesson: Aging is fundamentally a vitamin deficiency disease of two previously unknown vitamins.Testimonial: Dale and Naomi, age 46Helen's View: A typical day for Dr. AardsmaSUBSCRIBE to The BC Messenger email list.READ The BC Messenger and view images online.Contact us.
