Farewell Kenny | Brilliant Observations 133

from Brilliant Observations · host Melissa Brilliant, Amy Fugazi

As if we didn't have enough to deal with, good ole Kenny Rogers up and cashed in his chips. (He always said you gotta know when to fold 'em.) Hear the shocking degree of investment Melissa has in the Gambler, while Interrupting Amy bumbles and stumbles her way through a handful of Kenny Rogers favorites. Sort of.  Beyond that sad bit of news, we do our best to keep the topics light, the conversation flowing and the observations brilliant, just as you'd expect from your favorite comedy duo. With a little extra shade for the double-edged sword of Zoom meetings thrown in for good measure.  It's all that and more on the latest sparkly installment of your friendly neighborhood podcast, Brilliant Observations. Remember gang, we're coming to you live from a global pandemic, so please excuse us if we're a little rough around the edges. And on that note.  If you work in the health care field in any capacity, we see you. We're profoundly grateful for you. We're worried for you, and with you. We don't know how you do it. And we know you secretly don't think you can do it much longer. Truth? You've done enough already. You are an inspiration to the world just by getting out of bed each day (presuming you ever get the chance to sleep). So cry, drink, gorge, sleep, distract, hide, engage, yell, binge and zone all you want. There comes a point when you can do no more — and only you know when that is. Be mindful when it comes. All the love, appreciation and positive energy of the universe is flowing your way. Do whatever you can whenever you can to receive it.  Thank you doesn't begin to cover it. But for now, it's all we've got. Thank. You.  If you work in any of the industries currently keeping our society functioning, thank you for adding the extra burden of personal safety to your already too-long to do list. Working the cash register or stocking the shelves shouldn't require you to put your life and your family's lives on the line — and yet here we are. We promise not to take your sacrifice for granted.   And as for you, dear listener, please know how much we love you and appreciate you. Even when you can't be bothered to listen to the show. We get it. Just wash your hands, guys. And please stay home as long as you can. We'll be here when you're ready.
