In this episode, I have the honor of interviewing:

Bishop Gregory Godsey, who was born into a Roman Catholic family.  Then he discovered the Independent Sacramental Movement; however, his first experience in the movement was disastrous. He had found himself in the company of charlatans who turned out to be invalid. In an answer to his prayers, Bishops of the American Orthodox Catholic Church sub-conditionally ordained and consecrated Bishop Godsey in 2004.

Bishop Gregory founded the Ancient Apostolic Communion in 2002.   Since then the Ancient Apostolic Communion merged into the Liberal Catholic Apostolic Church, now known as the Old Catholic Apostolic Church.  On April 14, 2012, Bishop Godsey was officially installed as the Bishop Ordinary of the Diocese of Saint Maximilian Kolbe (AL, FL, GA, and SC). In addition, he is also the Director of the Office of Communications and Media Relations.  In May of 2015, Bishop Godsey was elected and installed as the Presiding Bishop of the Old Catholic Churches International.

Bishop Gregory is the Founding Editor of Convergent Streams, a magazine geared towards and for the Independent Sacramental Movement.  He is also the founder of the Independent Sacramental Movement Database.

In this episode Bishop Gregory and I talk about:

  • His elevator speech? How he describes the Independent Sacramental Movement to someone if he only had a moment to do so?
  • We discuss Convergent Streams and the Independent Sacramental Movement Database.
  • His initial experience within the Independent Sacramental Movement was disastrous? We discuss his experience.
  • He talks about his greatest challenge as a bishop.
  • We discuss imposter syndrome.
  • We discuss the idea of "spiritual but not religious."
  • And finally, his greatest blessing within ministry.
