What is true freedom? Teenagers might cry out that it is freedom from their parents' rule and the ability to do whatever they want. Those of us who have matured somewhat further have realized, however, that no one ever does "whatever they want." We have learned the axiom well that: "one's freedom ends where another's begins." Maybe the social animals we are can only ever taste relative but not absolute freedom, narcissistically try as we may. And yet our soul yearns for such true freedom, never quite knowing what that would exactly look like or where to find it.
Rabbi Olivier will endeavor to point to where such freedom might yet be uncovered and offer us a practice to cultivate such freedom in our lives. Join us.
