According to research South Africans are the biggest wasters of food. It has been reported that 30 % of the food that is produced in the country is not eaten. It is usually discarded or becomes rotten due to the fact that South Africans buy too much food. This is despite the expensive cost of groceries and food products and the increase of food prices year in and year out.
