Funkier Radio Episode 86 - Briak Guest Mix

I recorded this episode live at the end of one of the hottest days of all time here in London, so it only seemed right to start off with some sultry summer bubblers. Instead of the usual jumping around the BPMs i started very slowly and worked my way up steadily, so we went from a smooth and hazy chug to something a bit more lively by the end of the hour. Bit less heavy on the promos this time as I was focussing on summery tracks, plus some stuff I actually paid for recently. It was a really fun mix that ended up flowing pretty well, despite me almost melting whilst standing at the decks. Us Brits aren’t built for this heat! For the second hour I was very excited to hand over to one of my favourite DJs, Briak from France. Every mix I’ve heard from Briak has been a masterclass in track selection and mixing, and this one’s no different. There are no fewer than 24 brilliant tracks crammed into this hour long mix, with global and afro inspired rhythms, many shades of disco, some housier stuff, all blended together perfectly into one sublime journey.
