They can build you up or tear you down, they can encourage and inspire others around us or they can destroy hope and dreams. Isn't it always such a better time when you are surrounded by positive people? It's contagious. It's much harder to be feeling down when you are surrounded by hope and joy. Well, it's the same for negative people. It's hard to have hope when you are surrounded by the hopeless. God lays this out for us so perfectly in Numbers chapter 13 when God tells Moses to send out spies to scope out the land of Canaan. After exploring the land for forty days, the Men returned to Moses, sharing of the abundance of milk and honey and filled with delicious fruit. Caleb tried to quite some of the other Men, because he knew of all the good things the land produced and the promise God made. But some other Men were too focused on the people they would have to overcome, they said we even saw giants there, we felt like grasshoppers. And suddenly the hope that Caleb shared turned to fear and they became hopeless. We must be bold, be brave, be fearless and stand on the promises of the Lord. Be Bold. Be Brave.
