Wednesday Night Special Aloha mai kakou, This is just a special mid-week podcast to cover some news items that have come up since Sunday's show. Click here to hear this show: First, it would appear that Uncle John Keawe's show in Carlsbad, CA on 11/11 is cancelled. The show notes from Sunday have been updated (below). Then, listener Uncle Dick sent along the following updates for the Palo Alto/San Jose area: In San Jose on the first Wednesday of each month there is a Hawaiian open-mic night at a place called Espresso Garden on Bascom Avenue. This Saturday, Ozzie Kotani will give a slack-key workshop at Gryphon Stringed Instruments in Palo Alto. Every Friday and Saturday beginning at 8 pm there is live Hawaiian music at the Hukilau restaurant in downtown Palo Alto. It's a different band every night. As mentioned in the show, Patrick Landeza has been traveling and performing with Cyril Pahinui a few months ago and is currently performing with Dennis Kamakahi. Here are the links to his web sites: Patrick Landeza's personal web site can be found here. And you can find a link to Hawaiian Music World here.
