American Historian and bestselling author H.W. Brands joins this 114th episode to discuss his new book AMERICA FIRST. He's the senior chair of History at the University of Texas, and has authored almost twenty books on American history. Brands is also a Pulitzer Prize finalist. AMERICA FIRST, is a book that narrates the fierce debate over America’s role in the world in the runup to World War II through its two most important figures: President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who advocated intervention, and his isolationist nemesis, aviator and popular hero Charles Lindbergh.
