(Intersectionality) Rebels Follow Jesus with Rev. Dr. Susan K. Williams Smith

from Mutuality Matters · host CBE International

Show Notes  If you say that you follow Jesus, then your life should reflect the teachings of Jesus. Angela and Dr. Susan K. Williams Smith discuss how the teachings of Jesus stood diametrically opposed to doctrines that support empire-building and oppressive power structures. Instead, we are called to love each other and to tend to the least of these within our society. The call to be a Christian is a call to a radical lifestyle that is not always popular but does usher in the reign of Christ on earth.    Disclaimer  The opinions expressed in CBE’s Mutuality Matters’ podcast are those of its hosts or guests do not purport to reflect the opinions or views of CBE International or its members or chapters worldwide. Managing Next Generation Energy Systems Cambridge University Background Stakeholders working with energy systems have to make complex decisions formulated from risk-based assessments about the future. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
