Into the Shadows: The Jewish Trial | March 15, 2026

In this message from Mark 14:53–72, we look at the Jewish trial of Jesus and the powerful contrast between Jesus and Peter during one of the most intense moments leading up to the cross.While false accusations are brought against Him, Jesus remains silent until the most important question is asked: “Are you the Messiah?” In that moment, Jesus boldly speaks the truth, fully surrendering to the will of the Father even though it will lead to suffering and the cross.Meanwhile, Peter finds himself in the courtyard below, warming by the fire and facing his own moment of pressure. Afraid and overwhelmed, he denies even knowing Jesus.This passage reminds us that when life falls apart and our plans crumble, we often find ourselves on one of two paths: following our flesh like Peter, or trusting the will of God like Jesus. Yet even in our failures, the story of the cross is ultimately a story of redemption, restoration, and hope.
