Introducing The Everyday Heroine - EP 001

from The Everyday Heroine · host Maria Kauffman

Introducing – The Everyday HeroineIn this introductory episode of The Everyday Heroine, I introduce Marie Curie as our first featured ‘Everyday Heroine’. The 2019 movie 'Radioactive' is used as inspiration and guidance for helping us understand the challenges that Marie faced and how she handled and overcame those obstacles.I will weave in the opportunity to tell my own story so that you get a chance to know a little about me, Maria Kauffman, and my new mission. And by the end of the episode, I present the 7 defining characteristics that answer the one question everyone may be asking and that is… what is an Everyday Heroine? I use some inspirational quotes from Marie herself like ‘Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.’ I like to inspire women to think of themselves as heroines because ordinary women are doing extraordinary things every day. I use various sources including the movie Radioactive to learn about Marie Curie and to help compare and contrast both of us to the concept of an Everyday Heroine.By following the story of how Marie discovers two elements in the movie, I present the 7 defining characteristics of an Everyday Heroine while sharing stories of my own life. By the end of this episode, I recap the 7 defining characteristics of an Everyday Heroine as follows:[4:18] Answers her call to greatness with her skills or talents[9:50] Goes against the status quo to make the world a better place[12:15]  Works toward self-mastery [16:05] Has the freedom to explore her passion & purpose in a way that inspires women’s leadership[17:10] Shows evidence of transformation[17:45] Must be a real human person, not a fictional character[18:10] Must earn notable accomplishments Because there is a huge stretch between me and Marie Curie, I explain how important it is not to compare yourself to others. What is most important is finding the Everyday Heroine inside yourself so that you too, live a heroic life that is rewarding and satisfying through a prosperous career.Stay in your own lane and focus on yourself. The Everyday Heroine is intended to bring you inspiration and education for transformation. It is meant to help you tap into that inner strength so that we can all live a satisfying and rewarding life. You are being called to journey to your greatness. Remember, say yes to the adventure. Some details about Marie Curie were sourced from here.
