ITC: 134 - Pecha Kucha in the Classroom

Over the years, I have sat in countless presentations. Many of them are extremely boring; however, some of the most fun, informative, and engaging presentations have adhered to the Pecha Kucha rules. The campus where I work is about to launch a writing, math, and presentation center for our students. I have been tossing around the idea of using Pecha Kucha as a way to draw students to the center as well as holding fun informative contests. According to Wikipedia, Pecha Kucha is Japanese for chit-chat. It is a storytelling presentation format. Presenters show 20 slides. Each slide is displayed for 20 seconds each. They, therefore, have 6 minutes and 40 seconds or 400 seconds to present. Slides advance automatically.
