Jill Kenton (1982-88)

from The Road from Carmel · host Jill Kenton and Doron Junger

On this special Valentine's Day episode, joining Doron and guest co-host extraordinaire Dana Shauli Malmstrom (1981-85), to tell us her story - on her birthday - is the inimitable Jill Kenton, who many old Carmelis around the world know of course as Doron's regular co-host on the 'Road from Carmel' podcast and as the indefatigable organizer of multiple Carmel reunions. Jill is a professional voice-over artist with a global clientele, and the new face of 'Shapewear' on QVC UK,  and was the marketing director of her family's brand, Rigby & Peller, for over two decades in the UK and New York. Hear Jill tell us about lunch with Princess Diana, recording the audiobook version of her mom's book ("Storm in a D Cup"), a Carmel version of "The Escape from Alcatraz" gone wrong, the object of her affection on her first Valentine's Day at Carmel (apparently he was the very next best thing to Barry Manilow), and select other highlights of her romantic life in Mongewell Park (we keep it PG-rated).  Happy Birthday, Jill! Thank you, Jill, for turning us again to Carmel days!   Thank you also to Dana for stepping in as Doron's co-host to turn the spotlight on Jill. Dedication: at Jill's request, this episode is dedicated to the memory of Clyde Osols, Jill's first boyfriend and our good friend from Carmel days, who tragically passed away in Berlin in 2016.   Personal mentions in this episode: Rabbi Jeremy Rosen (Headmaster) Philip Skelker (Headmaster) Anthony Barr Taylor (Biology) John Browning (French & German) Mrs Lamb (Drama) Kate Eckersley (Singing) Fay Fawcett (Piano) Liz Goodall (Music) Rony Greenberg (Jewish Studies) Mary Evans (Mathematics) Nicki Borisute Rachel Feuerstein Lisa Bronzite Lisa Rudd Toni Guest Penny Borisute Rebecca Wernick Adam Sherridan Avi Fine Daniel Cohen Arkadi Nachimowski Clyde Osols Simon Breslav Nir Hogi Jamie Cowland Emma Goldstone Joanne Simon Irit Tausowicz Danny Rubens Marc Katz Jeremy Solomon Linda Krisman Kenny Wax Herman Benjamin Sam Spivack Paul Simon   Feel free to leave a comment letting us know what you liked about this episode, and rate us on your favorite podcast platform 🙏🏼 To tell us your story, email us at [email protected] / [email protected]
