Is it possible to reclaim the abundant life, the un-distracted life, a life deeply rooted in God--without making drastic life changes? We are going to tackle that today and let me tell you--our guest is a legend and an inspiration!  Author, Speaker, and counselor John Eldridge pulls back the curtain and shares his struggle with burnout and digital distraction and the simple steps he implemented to regain a life worth living. He shares how one minute a day could change everything, why you don't have to move to a remote island to find peace, and how to turn the volume down on life to hear God more clearly.   We also chat about: -Why grandparents need to occasionally press pause on social media too -Why beauty is important for healing -and why you need to take your shoes off more often    Favorite quotes: 1. God never intended your soul to carry the heartache of the world. 2. There is a direct correlation between the amount of social media you imbibe and rising levels of anxiety and depression. 3. If you’re able to name what you were feeling it reduces the negative consequences. 4. We can all handle a crazy day. Everybody has crazy days and we can handle a crazy week but what’s become normal for us is crazy as normal. We don’t ever get out of it. We don’t have non-crazy weeks, we don’t have non-crazy months. We are sucked into it and the cumulative effect of that over the years is what really erodes our soul. 5. The world that we live in right now is really brutal on human beings. What we assume to be a normal pace of life, the amount of media that we intake, the amount of time on technology, but also the complexity of the world that most people find themselves having to navigate the trauma, the heartbreak in the world or in friends and family- all of it. That requires souls that are really well and really strong if you’re going to make it through this particular moment but this particular moment is perfectly designed from preventing your soul from being strong and from you being really rooted in the life of God.   In this episode, I’m coaching you on how to not let fear overtake you and sharing three things you can do right now to help overcome anxiety.    Links to great things we discussed:  1.
