The gospel always produces a wide response: some receive, some reject, and some redirect the glory meant for God onto people.

Acts 14:8-18 reminds us to not take what belongs to God. Our worship must not be misplaced on leaders, idols, or empty things. As Paul would later write, “they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.” (Romans 1:25).

We are not promised easy lives, but we are promised purpose and meaning as we honor—not worship—the One true living God. The weight of His glory is greater than anything we can imagine, and our praise must always point back to Him.
