La juventud guatemalteca continúa sin ser atendida por el estado de Guatemala, para el Observatorio de derechos humanos de la juventud,  no hay avances y son desalentadores  los datos que muestra el” Informe de línea base del estado situacional de los derechos de la juventud” presentado por el Procurador de los derechos humanos y UNFPA Guatemala. El informe recopila datos  del 2014 y 2017, relacionados a la situación de la juventud en el acceso a sus derechos. Los resultados muestran a jóvenes de 13 a 29 años con dificultad para desarrollarse debido al precario acceso a educación, salud, empleo y servicios básicos. Los resultados muestran que únicamente un 2% de la juventud, tiene acceso a un trabajo formal, con protección social y un salario mínimo, mientras que los jóvenes indígenas registran  una  alta participación económica, debido a que son quienes trabajan desde los 8 años de edad.
