Kevin Roman, Alison Curdt, and Scott Felix talk US Open, Women's Golf Day, Club Fitting, Short Game Playing Lessons and Much More on Next on the Tee Golf Podcast

from Next on the Tee: Where Golf Legends Live & Your Game Gets Better · host Chris Mascaro

On this episode of Next on the Tee I'm joined by: Kevin Roman, 2014 Georgia PGA Teacher of the Year and current Director of Instruction at Monterey Peninsula Country Club; Alison Curdt, 2015 LPGA National Teacher of the Year; and Golf Digest Top 100 Club Fitter Scott Felix. Kevin Roman shares his insights into the set up and playing conditions at Pebble Beach as we look ahead to the US Open. He also talks about what it will take to win there and the type of player the conditions will favor. Kevin also talks about the two Top 100 courses they have at Monterey Peninsula Country Club and shares some playing lessons for how to deal with windy playing conditions. Dr. Alison Curdt talks about this year's Women's Golf Day event and the challenges she's had to overcome as a female during the course of her golf career. Alison shared her experience of not only playing in but also making the cut last year in the Men's PGA Professional Championship. We also got a couple of playing lessons for how to hit better pitch shots and shots out of a fairway bunker. Scott Felix took us through why it's even more important for high handicap players to get fit for their clubs than it is for Tour Pros. He explained the importance of finding the right shaft for your swing speed, the steps he goes through to determine the right clubs for each of his customers, the importance of grip size and how to get fit for the right putter as well.
