Labor Day was created to celebrate the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity and well-being of our country!  That means that it is a day for each and every one of us who made a contribution based on the work that we have done throughout our life. Celebrate!  And celebrate every small step you take to achieve your goal, an accomplishment, and achievement!  Celebration offsets burnout and contributes to sustained motivation! Celebrate everyone who came before you and paved the way for you to be able to do whatever it is that you do.  Tomorrow, we celebrate those trail blazers and opened up the way for us to do what we do!!  Thanks to  the pioneers! #theresabarnabei #flightofyourlife #RosietheRiveter #NormaRae

The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
