The show is currently hosted by DJ MEEM, a celebrated DJ and music producer who has performed at some of the countries biggest festivals, and is credited as a pioneer of electronic music in Australia. Back to Funk reaches a wide and diverse audience, and features many styles of music. It has always represented and promoted black music styles, and was integral to the development of hip hop culture in throughout the 80's and 90's in Sydney.
