I was deeply influenced by the Pet Shop Boys since I was young, so I was determined to become a musician and pass on the beauty and temperament I got from them in my own way. I never thought that I would be able to meet them in person when I grew up, hang out with them, and even warm up for their concert in Taiwan. Taiwan is a small country, and it was a distant dream to have the opportunity to see their show. But this is more than a dream. I decided to welcome them with my show, so I wrote a welcome song. This song is completely based on West End Girl. The lyrics and melody are completely new. Every beat and breakpoint must be exactly the same as West End Girl. This is not easy for me because West End Girl is such a unique song. After I finished writing, I suddenly received a call from the organizer telling me that the Pet Shop Boys don’t like their cover songs to appear in the warm-up. I think my welcome song is not a cover, and this one is very important to me. It is to express my gratitude to them. After they listened to and confirmed all the warm-up content, they kindly said that there was no problem, which deeply moved me. Until now, I still can’t believe that I can personally communicate with them about music ideas and production techniques and perform for them. On the most important day of my life, I met the most respected and greatest music teacher in my life.
