Light on the other side of darkness

from Journey with Nikita · host Nikita Thakrar

"WE CANT ALWAYS CHOOSE THE MUSIC LIFE PLAYS FOR US, BUT WE CAN CHOOSE HOW WE DANCE TO IT"... In 2022, I sprained my ankle, well I thought it was a sprain. I was abroad and the x-ray there showed it was not broken. They sent me away without a crutch / support and I continued limping around and dancing on it for the next few months! The pain was getting increasingly severe which prompted me to get another x-ray done in this country. This time it showed the tibia bone was broken. Perhaps it had been from the time of the injury or moving on it broke it, I'll never know. Fear and panic set in as I genuinely thought my career as a dancer & yoga instructor was over... I struggled to demonstrate dance steps in classes and could no longer do some of the yoga postures in front of my students. I felt guilty and ashamed. I did a vigorous course of physiotherapy and hydrotherapy, along with a lot of self healing (Reiki) and as a consequence, I was able to perform in TWO of my company's shows last year, albeit in discomfort. Now one year on and I honestly do not feel a thing, I am back to complete physical strength and my mindset is even more determined to do what I can while I can. I feel so grateful that I recovered well and even though I am aware this was only a minor injury, I want to share my story to inspire others not to give up! If you're going through a hurdle in your life where you feel stuck, whether it be physically, mentally or emotionally I can assure you this is a temporary phase and you WILL overcome it, even stronger than you are now. I promise, there is LIGHT on the other side, if you stay strong, resilient and have hope 🙏 ©Nikita Thakrarhttps://journeywithnikita.com/
