Lincoln "Sugar" Minott Selection
from checkonetwo... · host Till Bergman
Foundation dancehall / reggae singer, Lincoln ‘Sugar’ Minott is dead. He reportedly died July 10 during the afternoon; and although the cause of death has not yet been publicized, just a couple months ago Dancehall.Mobi reported that he was gravely ill and had been diagnosed as having Angina Pectoris – a severe heart condition – and ordered by his doctor to rest. Minott had a distinctive voice and was a great singer. So I picked a couple of my favourite tracks mostly from his 80s "Rub-a-Dub Sound" period. 80s Reggae still sounds great to me as long as the producers were good... The early Studio One material should be presented seperately (I hope somebody does it for me because I can´t afford the records). So if you miss "Oh Mr. D.C." in this selection please forgive me! RIP Sugar; you have your place among the greatest. Prayers for your family.
